Road shut after lorry hits bridge and sheds its load of straw
The main road through Newtown was blocked after a lorry carrying straw shed its load today.
The lorry became wedged under the Nantoer Bridge near Newton Evangelical Church on A489 Llanidloes Road at around 1pm.
Traffic in the area was stationary and the road was closed while the debris was removed.
Newtown Road Policing Unit said the road would remain closed to traffic for several hours.
