Renee reaches her century

If you ever went to the community hospital in Forden, you may well remember Renee Morgan.

Renee, or Irene, worked at the village hospital and her family says, touched many people's lives.

Mrs Morgan celebrated her 100th birthday this week, with a large gathering of family and friends, at The Hermitage residential home where she has lived since February.

The very special birthday party included a magician and a sing song of old favourites.

Mrs Morgan has lived in Montgomeryshire all her life having been raised in Forden.

She had three children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her daughter Jean paid tribute to her mother, and said how much she enjoyed her celebration.

She said: "Everyone will know her from working at the hospital in Forden, she touched so many people's lives.

"She has three children, and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

"Still today she is doing very well, she has been here since February and really enjoys it here. Having a card from the Queen was a really nice moment for her."

Sham Patel of the Hermitage Care Home in Welshpool added: "She really enjoys living here and all the residents had a good time at the party. From everyone at the home we just want to wish her a happy birthday."
