Major Welshpool road closed after diesel spillage
Motorists are facing long diversions with one of the major roads out of Welshpool closed due to a fuel spillage.
The A458 between Foel and Banwy had to be shut by police in both directions just after 8.30am on Wednesday after diesel spilled on the road.
Traffic Wales urged drivers to avoid the area.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the road would be closed for some time and asked motorists to find an alternative route.
Writing on Twitter at around 10.30am the force said: "The A458 between Llanfair Caereinion and Llangadfannwill be closed for the next few hours due to an incident. If possible, please avoid the area or find an alternative route."
