Sculptor is real angel to garden

A chainsaw artist sculpted tree owls at a popular garden, and now members of the public have the opportunity to give it a name.

Angel Maltby puts on a display of her carving skills every year at the Dorothy Clive Garden, leaving the site near Market Drayton with a permanent piece of art.

She worked there for two days and created a collection of owl sculptures near the garden's bluebell woods.

The main owl sculpture needs a name, and the staff at the garden are inviting suggestions.

"It was fabulous," said the garden's curator Kathryn Robey, "we had lots of visitors who came to see.

"Angel also created a parliament of owls, as in real life."

Submissions to name the new owl are welcome until Easter Sunday.
