Grant Crutchley of Woore, attacked the man as he watched England versus Italy during the Euro 2020 final with his daughter, a friend, and her daughter's partner, Shrewsbury Crown Court heard on Wednesday.

After punching and stamping on the man in front of his daughter, Crutchley went on to attack the partner of the man's daughter during the 20 minute bout of "sustained violence" in the pub in Woore on July 11 2020, the court heard.

Crutchley had admitted one charge of assault causing grievous bodily harm and one charge of assault causing actual bodily harm on the day of his trial in July this year, the court heard.

Prosecutor, Ms Suzanne Francis, said that the victims had earlier even asked Crutchley if he wanted to join them as he was sat alone.
