Car destroyed in blaze at Market Drayton - with pictures
A car has been left destroyed after it became engulfed in flames in Market Drayton.
Firefighters were called to the car fire at about 6am at the Gingerbread man roundabout on the A53.
A spokesman from Market Drayton Fire Station said: "On arrival it was found that a car was fully involved in fire, having come to a stop just off the carriage way before the island.
"Crews quickly set about extinguishing the fire, using two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets. Due to the fuel line being ruptured the decision was made to use foam to smother the fire.
"We are happy to report that there were no injuries during the incident and that the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
"We would like to thank all the motorists caught up in the tail back for waiting patiently, while the carriage way was temporarily closed to allow the crew to work safely.
"Thanks to our colleagues from West Mercia Police who attended to assist with traffic control."
Crews left at about 7am.
There were no reports of any injuries.
