Road closed by van fire near Market Drayton
A road near Market Drayton was closed today following a van fire.
Firefighters from Market Drayton, along with a fire engine from Newcastle-under-Lyme, were sent to a large vehicle on fire at Pinewood Road, Ashley Heath, at about 8.30am.
A spokesman from Market Drayton Fire Station said: "On arrival it was discovered that the fire involved the rear brake drums of a large goods vehicle.
"Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and cool the drums and a thermal imaging camera was used to check that the fire had not spread to other parts of the vehicle.
"We are pleased to report that there were no persons injured at this incident.
"The road was closed for a short period of time for the safety of crews, whilst dealing with the incident."
