Bull trapped in cattle grid near Market Drayton dies
A bull has died after being trapped in a cattle grid near Whitchurch.
Firefighters and animal rescue specialists were called out to Calverhall, between Whitchurch and Market Drayton, at about 10.30am this morning after the bull had become trapped.
A spokesman for Market Drayton Fire Station said: "On arrival, sadly it was learnt that due to the injuries that the animal had sustained and the distress it was in, a decision had been made by a vet who was on the scene that the animal required to be put down.
"Crews released the animal from its entrapment using small tools."
