Woman cut free after crash near Whitchurch

A woman had to be cut free after her car crashed and flipped onto its side near Whitchurch.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue sent one appliance from Whitchurch to assist Audlem firefighters to deal with the collision.

Fire crews used cutting gear to gain access to the vehicle and help one injured woman at the crash in Burleydam, in Whitchurch, just after 8pm last night.

North West Ambulance Service was also in attendance and saw to the woman's injuries.

Audlem Fire Station tweeted the incident, saying: "Audlem Firefighters were called to an RTC involving a single vehicle.

"Cutting gear was used to gain access to the vehicle, and one female casualty was extricated and handed over to @NWAmbulance.

"Thanks to our coleagues @SFRS_Whitchurch for their help."
