Aimee Groves, from Loggerheads, near Market Drayton, enjoyed a break in Florida with her mum Bernie, sisters Leanne and Autumn and brother Daniel.

Aimee has epilepsy and neurological abnormalities which hamper her independence, but she and her family were helped by Caudwell Children, which provides support to disabled children and their families.

The charity paid for and organised the holiday.

Spokesman Mark Bushell said: "Aimee and the family had a wonderful time on their dream holiday.

“She’s had a tough few years because her mum doesn’t drive and she’d become increasingly isolated.

“Aimee won’t go on public transport as she thinks that other passengers will stare at her.

“Bernie was hoping that the holiday would have a massive impact on Aimee as she’d become really unhappy.

Memories

“I’m pleased to say the holiday didn’t disappoint and Aimee had an experience that she'll never forget.”

The charity created the Destination Dreams programme in 2007 to give 25 children with various conditions the opportunity to experience Disney World.

“It was so important to make some good memories as a family,” said Bernie. “And it was a dream come true to see Aimee's face light up when she met all her idols and the princesses at Magic Kingdom.

“It’s something that we will never forget as I thought we’d never be able to do it together.

“To watch Aimee enjoying it with her sisters and brother was magical."

Caudwell Children is urging parents of children with life-limiting conditions to apply for a place on next year’s trip.
