Pupils from St Mary's Church of England Primary School, in Mucklestone near Market Drayton, were thrilled to receive a cheque for £3,054.71 from the manager of the Loggerheads Co-operative store.

Jane Sellman, the school's office services manager, said: "The school was chosen as last year's Co-op Local Cause and would like to thank the company and all family and friends for their generous support.

"Some of the money will be used to fund a school council project to improve the outdoor area, based on plans drawn up by the pupils."
