Mincher Lockett & Co raised £520 with a night of fashion and fundraising at the Goldstone Hall Hotel, including a reception with drinks and canapés, viewing of luxury eyewear and a raffle.

A 'most colourfully dressed' competition judged by director Eva Davé was won by Becky McFarlane.

Mrs Davé said: "During December many people get dressed up and often forget about their eyewear.

"Our event was all about helping people choose eyewear to add a bit of glitz and sparkle to their festival and seasonal outfits, whilst raising vital funds for the NSPCC.

"The event was a great way to kick start the festive season whilst supporting a worthy cause."

Sue Alcock, of the Whitmore branch of the NSPCC, said: "We were delighted to collaborate with Mincher Lockett & Co in raising funds for the NSPCC and in particular, our local facility, Carole House which is based just over the border in Basford.

"We raised a great amount for the charity whilst learning about eyewear styling and also having fun.’’
