Firefighters tackle large barn blaze near Market Drayton
Firefighters have been tackling a large barn fire near Market Drayton which started on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the site in Hatton, south of the town, at about 4.50pm on Thursday.
The blaze, involving a forklift-type machine, spread to straw in the barn.
Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service sent six appliances, including the incident command unit, the rescue tender, the water carrier and the welfare unit.
Crews were sent from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Newport, Telford and Wellington fire stations, before a team from Wem was called at about 2.50am for support.
A spokesman from Wem Fire Station said the incident would be ongoing throughout Friday.
Operations and safety officers were also in attendance and firefighters used six sets of breathing apparatus and multiple jets to tackle the blaze.
