Part of churchyard cordoned off after brick wall collapses on steep bank
Part of a churchyard in north Shropshire has been cordoned off from members of the public after a brick wall gave way and sent soil tumbling down a steep bank.
Part of the wall surrounding St Mary's Church in Market Drayton, collapsed into a neighbouring garden on Phoenix Bank at around midday on Thursday.
A fairly large portion of the brick wall and underlying soil collapsed down the bank, which is a sheer drop, to the garden and footpaths below.
Shropshire Council has confirmed it is dealing with the incident.
Members of the church have put up tape to prevent walkers from accessing the unsafe area in the meantime.
