Joy for Shropshire dancer as she wins her sixth world championship
A line dancer from Market Drayton is celebrating after winning her sixth world title.
Joyce Plaskett, 64, began line dancing in 1996 but became a full time instructor in 2014 after being made redundant from her job in the civilian service with the police.
"I had been dancing since 1997, but when I lost my job I decided to see if I could do dancing professionally," she said.
Since then she has won the European title 10 times, as well as being named a coveted "all-star", and last weekend at the World Dance Masters in Winter Gardens, Blackpool, Joyce picked up her sixth world title.
