A driver has been banned from the road after he took cocaine to "stay awake".

Christy Chilton had a cocaine derivative in his system when stopped by police

Christy Chilton, 49, of the The Laurels in Grosvenor Road, Market Drayton, was pulled over in his Dacia Duster on April 16 on the A442 in Shawbirch.

Chilton admitted having 492 microgrammes of the cocaine derivative Benzoylecgonine in his system, above the specified limit of 50 microgrammes when he appeared at Telford Magistrates on Tuesday.
