Market Drayton town councillor Roy Aldcroft said he is a "little cynical" as to whether Towers Lawn car parks will see the installation of barriers to stop travellers from accessing the site.

After a "longstanding problem" over the last three to four years with rubbish being left at the site and the loss of income due to occupants in the car park, Mr Aldcroft continues to pursue a solution.

The councillor said he has received several complaints from residents of houses that were built on Towers Lawn in 2018, reporting social aggravation and "filth" left on the site.

Mr Aldcroft said he first opened discussions with Shropshire Council two and a half years ago and was informed that there was money within the county council's budget to conduct a site meeting and tackle the issue.
