Mike and Amanda Dubicki, owners of The Raven Hotel in Prees Heath near Whitchurch, have pulled the plug on the event featuring Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis.

The two times PDC World Darts Champion was due to take part in the charity darts exhibition on October 20.

But the couple said: "It is with much regret that we have had to cancel the darts evening with Adrian Lewis.

"Unfortunately due to lack of support through ticket sales we feel that this would not meet the needs for us to be able to raise any money for Midlands Air Ambulance.

"This is our chosen charity and we always try to help them whenever we can and will continue to do so in the future."

The evening was due to be compered by renowned darts MC Paul Booth and see Lewis play games of darts against players from the local area.

The Raven is known for bringing great sporting events to north Shropshire.

In previous years it has hosted sporting evenings with Eric Bristow and Ronnie Baxter for darts and Ronnie O’Sullivan for snooker.
