Man died when his car crashed off Wem road into pond, inquest hears
A driver died when his car came off a road in Wem and crashed into a pond, an inquest has been told.
Shane Cornelius Warner, 27, from Higher Heath in north Shropshire, died at the scene of the accident on the B5065, Soulton Road, on Saturday, February 27.
Senior coroner for Shropshire and Telford, Mr John Ellery, said at the inquest at the Shirehall in Shrewsbury today that emergency services went to the scene at about 1.30am after a local resident heard a bang.
They discovered a car that had crashed into a pond and that Mr Warner was inside the car.
Mr Ellery adjourned the inquest until July 6.
