Inquest into death of Shawbury pensioner to be held next year

An inquest will take place next year into the death of a pensioner at a nursing home in Shawbury.

James Davies Gresty was 73, and had been residing in the River Meadows Nursing Home in Shawbury for the past 18 months.

The inquest into his death was opened at Shirehall on Wednesday, where coroner's officer Ceri Badham said Mr Gresty's health had been deteriorating. He died on November 28.

She told the opening of the inquest how Mr Gresty was born in Manchester in 1946, and had been a process engineering constructor.

Coroner for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin John Ellery adjourned the hearing, for a full inquest to take place in Telford on March 7, 2019.
