Harmer Hill crash

One person was taken to hospital after a crash involving two vehicles.

The accident happened on the A528 Shrewsbury to Wem road between Albrighton and Harmer Hill.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received a call from police at about 3.45pm on Wednesday.

Jamie Arrowsmith, communication officer for the service said that an air ambulance was initially send to the scene but was stood down.

A land ambulance took one person to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Two fire engines were also sent from Shrewsbury to the scene. No-one was trapped and firefighters made the vehicles safe.

The road was blocked and local diversions were set up.
