Complaint to Shropshire Council over dead sheep delay near Wem
A formal complaint has been made to Shropshire Council about the time it took to remove a dead sheep from the side of a road.
Wem Rural Parish Council has made the complaint after it took up to eight weeks for the animal to be removed from the Edstaston area.
Shropshire Council is now looking into the complaint.
Carole Warner, clerk to the parish council, said: "A resident reported to Shropshire Council that tyres and a dead sheep had been left on a verge in the Edstaston area at the beginning of April or back in March.
"They and I asked for them to be removed.
"Shropshire Council or its contractors took a lot of time to remove the sheep so we decided to make a formal complaint.
"They removed the tyres, but because different contractors are responsible for different things, they didn't take the sheep.
"It ended up taking about about six to eight weeks to be removed."
The issue will be discussed at a meeting of Wem Rural Parish Council on Tuesday in Edinburgh House, Wem, at 7pm.
