Future development of Wem on show
Future housing sites in the Wem area can be viewed at a drop-in session in the town next week.
Shropshire Council’s Planning Policy Team is currently consulting on its Local Plan Review and has put forward a number of sites that it would like to see developed for housing in Wem.
Information about the sites put forward will be on display on Monday between 4pm and 8pm in the Roden Suite, Edinburgh House, New Street, Wem.
Wem Town Council is urging people to call into the session. saying it will give residents of Wem the opportunity to view the sites put forward for development and share views on Shropshire Council’s proposals with town councillors prior to the town council submitting it’s response to the consultation.
Councillor Connie Granger, Mayor Of Wem said: “it is important that residents of Wem attend this drop in to see the preferred sites put forward by Shropshire Council for development in the town and discuss any opinions they may have on the proposed sites with Town Councillors.”
“A meeting of the Town Council’s Planning and Transport Committee will take place at 7pm on January 22 in the Roden Suite, Edinburgh House, when the Town Council will agree its formal response to Shropshire Council’s consultation. This meeting will be open to the public.”
