Cooking fumes trigger alarm at sheltered flats in Wem

Cooking fumes triggered a fire alarm at a block of sheltered flats for older residents.

When firefighters arrived at Roden Lodge, in Mill Street, Wem, at about 1.50pm yesterday they discovered it was a false alarm caused by fumes from cooking.

The crew from the town's fire station left the site at 2.03pm.
