Police cracking down on speeding motorists in Whitchurch
Increased police patrols are being introduced in a town in order to crack down on speeding motorists and anti-social behaviour.
Police said they will be increasing checks on drivers using roads in and around Whitchurch.
Constable Deborah Wheeler said officers would also be carrying out speeding surveys.
She said: “In response to residents’ concerns over speeding vehicles in Whitchurch, officers from the safer neighbourhood team will be continuing to carry out speed checks at a number of locations.
“We will also be doing speed surveys and taking out the speed gun.
“Any offences will be dealt with.
“We recently gave out a section 59 order for anti-social behaviour on a patrol.
“Extra police vehicles will also be patrolling Whitchurch.
“We are regularly going out to do what we can.
“We will also be sending out letters to drivers.”
