Driver avoids injury as car overturns near Whitchurch

A car ended up on its side following a crash near Whitchurch.

The accident, which involved a Ford Fiesta, happened on Tilstock Road at about 9.30pm on Wednesday.

Police say no other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash and the driver avoided injuries.

Paul Roberts, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "The road was blocked until 11.15pm while the vehicle was recovered and a man driving the car was checked by paramedics, but there are no reports of any injuries."

Constable Deb Wheeler, of the Whitchurch safer neighbourhood team, who was off duty at the time, thanked members of the public who assisted her while dealing with the crash.
