Eight tonnes of waste up in flames
About eight tonnes of waste went up in flames.
Firefighters were called to the scene in Cloverdale, in Alkington, Whitchurch, just before 7pm last night.
The crews used beaters and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire which covered about 100 square metres of grass and undergrowth.
The fire was under control by about 8.10pm.
