A cut above: Sisters donate their locks to children's wig charity
Young sisters Maddie and Charley Barlow have raised more than £200 for a children's charity just by getting their hair cut.
The Whitchurch duo will be donating the cash and their locks to The Little Princess Trust which provides real hair wigs to children and young adults who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Maddie, six, who attends Whitchurch Infant Academy, has donated 10.5ins while big sister Charley, 11, who attends St John Talbot's School, has donated 12 inches of her locks to the charity.
They paid a visit to the town's Mane Attraction salon based in High Street on Saturday, accompanied by their mother Michaela Richardson.
Miss Richardson, 36, said: "The girls have always wanted to have their hair short which we have resisted until now. They persuaded their dad to let them have it done and then decided to do it for a good cause. They wanted to put a smile of the faces of girls who have no hair.
"They have surpassed the £150 target and have so far collected £220 from online donations and we're waiting for more to come.
"The girls are really happy with their hair cuts. They're also looking forward to visiting their grandparents in Chester who they've not seen since the first lockdown last year," she added.

The Little Princess Trust was launched 15 years ago and supplies free wigs for young people aged up to 24.
