Fire crews called to false alarm of person stuck on top of a crane

Fire crews were called out to reports of a person stuck at the top of a crane – to find it was a false alarm.

The incident took place at Dodington in Whitchurch at around 8.30pm yesterday.

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service said that the alert, from a report from the public, was a false alarm with good intent.

A total of three fire crews – and the aerial ladder platform – were sent to the scene from Shrewsbury, Wellington and Whitchurch.

The police had also attended but it didn't take long to realise it was a false alarm with the incident concluded by 8.41pm.
