Oswestry’s festive tractor run drives in record donations for cancer charity

Well, the money is in for 2025, and this year’s Oswestry Illuminated Tractor Run, which covered a 38-mile route through 11 villages around Oswestry, has raised more than £22,248 for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. And that figure is set to rise further, with a few collection buckets still to be counted and donations continuing to come in via the JustGiving page.

Shropshire's largest market town, Oswestry is well known for having a mixed English and Welsh heritage, being five miles from the Anglo-Welsh border. The town also boasts a host of vibrant independent stores, coffee shops and a high number of public houses per head of population - there are around 30. Oswestry is also home to one of the most spectacular and best preserved Iron Age hill forts in Britain - Old Oswestry.
