Golden age of English music to be recreated at Whittington church
An evening at Whittington church will seek to recreate the golden age of English music during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
The 16-strong “Scholars and Gentlemen” choir based at St Oswald’s Oswestry will perform pieces commissioned originally for the Chapel Royal.
The event takes place on March 17 at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 and can be bought at the door of St John the Baptist church on the evening or in advance at Rowanthorn in Oswestry town centre.
The event is to benefit Whittington’s week-long music festival in May.
