Jake Adrian Thomas, from Oswestry, died on April 16 after the crash on the B5069 Gobowen Road at about 9.30pm.

An inquest into the 30-year-old’s death was opened by assistant coroner for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, Heath Westerman, today.

Mr Westerman said CPR was administered but Mr Thomas was declared dead at the scene.

The inquest was adjourned until August 22 at Shirehall in Shrewsbury.

At the time a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Crews arrived to find a man who was in cardiac arrest following a collision with a car and was receiving CPR by passers-by.

"Ambulance staff quickly took over resuscitation efforts but, sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead on scene a short time later."

The junction between the A5 and the B5069, which connects Oswestry with Gobowen, was blocked for several hours.
