Kitchen fire

A fire that broke out in a home near Oswestry started in the kitchen.

Fire crews from Llanfyllin and Welshpool were called to a fire at a property near Sarnau, Llanymynech, across the Powys border at 5.17am on Wednesday.

Mid and West Wales fire service said that the fire was confined to a cooker, in the kitchen of the property, and extinguished by firefighters using one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and small gear. The crews also isolated the electric and oil supply.

Firefighters left the incident at 6:12am.
