The British Ironwork Centre, near Oswestry, has created its own, peaceful pastimes green to allow visitors to enjoy a gentle sport during their time at the tourist attraction.

One of the aims of the green is to offer more for visitors to do outdoors.

Ironwork Centre chairman Clive Knowles said: "We appreciate that with the easing of Covid restrictions there will be people who will be somewhat anxious and unsure about going out and about again. We wanted to ensure there was plenty for people to do outdoors and so have added a number of additional activities, completely free of charge.

"They will be able to book a half hour slot on the green and collect the equipment to enjoy a game with their friends or family. The games are suitable for all ages and also all abilities."

"There is also the sculpture park for people to enjoy and of course our outdoor and sheltered seating will remain."

As with other hospitality venues the centre will be able to open up its indoor seating again from Monday.
