Dr Robin Clive Butler, aged 74, lived in Oswestry but spent many years of his career at London hospitals including the old Charing Cross and the Kennedy Institute in Chelsea. Back then, the risk of asbestos poisoning was unknown.

An inquest into Dr Butler's death at Shirehall in Shrewsbury was told that he would have been exposed to asbestos in the course of his work.
