Firefighter in full kit completes star-studded Oswestry 10K race
A firefighter has completed a 10K race in his full kit with nearly three stone extra to carry... and he didn't finish last.
A total of more than 730 runners took part in this year's big Oswestry 10K race where firefighter Connor Beardmore was joined by his dad Tim Beardmore, Chloe Upton and Jim Barker who ran alongside him.
James Lewis, of Oswestry Fire Station, said: "So proud of our very own Connor Beardmore for completing the Oswestry 10k in FULL firefighting gear!
"He was joined by Tim Beardmore, Chloe Upton and Jim Barker who ran alongside him.
"Together, they braved the elements and went the extra mile for a fantastic cause.
"Connor's dedication and effort have raised over £1,000 for the Firefighter Charity!
"A massive shout-out for your hard work. You’ve made us all very proud!"
Connor recorded a very creditable time of one hour and five minutes and finished in 626th position in the race organised by Adrenaline Sporting Events.
