The incidents happened in Wrexham and Flintshire in June and October this year.
Christopher Deakin, of Henley Close, Oswestry admitted two offences of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of children and appeared before Mold Crown Court for sentencing on Monday, December 23.
He was jailed for 20 months and must register with the police as a sex offender for the next 10 years.
He was also handed four 10-year restraining orders to protect the victims and a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, with conditions not to loiter around any park, school or place where young girls will gather.
On June 10, two 11-year-old school friends were walking to school along the B5097 between Penycae and Ruabon in Wrexham when they witnessed Deakin watching them performing a sex act on himself as he slowly drove past in a blue van.
Deakin was arrested the following day and bailed pending further enquiries.
On October 9, another two girls were walking home from school in Hawarden when they witnessed Deakin committing a sex act on himself as he drove past while looking at the children.
The following morning, one of the girls reported seeing the same van in Hawarden, heading towards a primary school.
He was arrested that day and subsequently remanded into custody.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Andrew Vaughan said: “Deakin’s behaviour by preying on schoolchildren as they walked to and from school for his own gratification is deeply concerning.
“I commend all four victims and their families for their courage throughout our investigations, which has allowed us to hold Deakin to account.
“This outcome today reflects our commitment to bringing sexual offenders to justice and ensuring that victims and children are heard and protected.”
