Mia wows the gymnastic judges
She may be only 11-years old but Mia Evans already has her sights set on representing her country at Commonwealth and even Olympic Games.
The gymnast, who trains in Shropshire, has qualified for the 2018 British Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool on March 8.
Mia, from Chirk, booked her place in the event after coming third overall in the county at the British Gymnastics Compulsory 1 competition at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, where her skills in the range and conditioning section saw judges vote her best in Britain.
Her gymnastic talents won her a scholarship to Wrekin College and she also attends Park Wrekin Gymnastics Club in Wellington where she is coached by Christine Still.
Proud mother, Angela Evans, said: "Mia is a member of the Welsh preparation squad and a member of the Pathway performance squad for Team GB."
"She competes on five pieces, the floor which is her favourite, asymmetric bars, vault, beam and the range and conditioning, which is the hardest.
The talented youngster has been doing gymnastics since she was three years old.
"She has a natural flair," Mrs Evans said.
"She works so hard and her dream is to get to the commonwealth games."
