The worker was hurt while working in the logging yard at Kronospan in Chirk yesterday morning.

Wales Ambulance Service sent an air and a land ambulance to the incident, and the police were also called to attend.

The worker was taken to hospital for treatment on their injuries.

Kronospan confirmed that the matter had been reported to the Health and Safety Executive – the body that enforces workplace safety across the UK.

A spokesman for the HSE has now said it is looking at the circumstances around the incident.

He said: “HSE is aware of the incident and we are making enquiries.”
