Horse trapped in cattle grid near Ellesmere cut free - with pictures
Firefighters had to free a horse after it got trapped in a cattle grid near Ellesmere.
Two fire crews - including the specialist animal rescue team from Wellington - were sent to the scene in Pigeon Lane, Cumbers Bank, just before 1pm on Sunday.
The firefighters used cutters, spreaders and electric saws to free the horse's front legs.
A vet was at the scene to check the animal for injuries after it was freed.
Elsewhere, crews tackled a car fire in Telford.
Firefighters were sent to the scene in West Centre Way just after 1pm yesterday, but the fire in the engine compartment was out before they arrived.
The crew cooled the engine using a hose reel jet and the situation was under control by 1.45pm.
