Izzy Piekarski and Mary Lewery as the evil fairies in Welshampton's production of Cinderella.

The pantomime, on February 9, 10 and 11, at Welshampton Parish Hall, has been written by local author, Joan Davies who has given the traditional fairytale a local twist.

It will be directed by Danny Davies.

The latest production is from the performance team at Welshampton Bonfire Committee, a group which puts on a bonfire for villagers each year.

Cinderella features a cast of almost 30 as well as music directed by Ellesmere musician Trixi Field, and sets designed by local artist, Tony Lewery.

More than 50 volunteers from the village and surrounding areas have been hard at work on the production since November.

There will be four performances over the weekend including Friday and Saturday nights and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Tickets for the production, which takes place in Welshampton Parish Hall, are available from Janet Jones on 01948 710602 and are also on sale at the Sun Inn, Welshampton.

They cost £7 for adults, £5 for seniors and £4 for children.

Details are available on the Welshampton Bonfire Committee website at www.welshampton.net.
