Fallen tree blocks Shropshire canal
A canal in Shropshire has been blocked after a tree came crashing down in high winds.
Narrowboats wanting to travel along the Llangollen Canal are unable to get past the obstruction, between Ellesmere and Whitchurch near Colemere.
The towpath has also been blocked to pedestrians, meaning walkers have had to turn around.
Keen walker and photographer Graham Mitchell came across the fallen tree while out for a stroll today.

Mr Mitchell, from Oswestry, said: “Workers have been out to survey the problem, but it looks like it is too big a job to tackle today.”
After some early showers, today was forecast to become largely dry, but it expcted to remain windy.
More high winds are forecast for Saturday and this has led to Park Run organisers at Erddig close to the Shropshire/north Wales border cancelling this week’s run because of fears of branches falling along the route which goes through woods.
After another wet and windy day, it’s expected to be brighter and showery on Sunday.
There will also be some hill snow in the north. Monday is expected to be a lot calmer with more sunshine and lighter winds.
