Fizzgigs was one of four local organisations that were given grants by the League of Friends to the former nursing home at Trimpley, Ellesmere.

The money was handed out at the league's popular charity shop.

Fizzgigs vice chairman, Mirjana Garland, took along the star of the show, the model dragon for the occasion.

Written by Mirjana, George and the Dragon is being performed on Rodney’s Field, Ellesmere, on August 10 as part of the town’s three day summer festival.

The annual summer festival celebrates the arts and local crafts.

As well as being spread throughout the town, activities will be centred around the canal wharf and Canal.

Last year the festival included a model railway exhibition, a car show and a fun dog show as well as a flower festival in the Methodist Church.
