Although the 2nd Ellesmere Brownies have been unable to meet face to face over lockdown they have still been active and chatting over the computer.

The brownies were set a challenge, by one member doing her Gold award, to see if they could match last year's donations of 55 boxes of food and Christmas cheer for the Oswestry and Borders food bank. Each Brownie was given a wrapped shoe box to fill and do some shopping challenges.

Caroline Ford from the pack said that boxes were returned overflowing and together with a unit donation and a couple of donations from supporters.

"They achieved 57 boxes breaking last year's record. In times of financial stress and health concerns for so many of us this is truly outstanding," she said.

"We are once again proud to be able to think of others and uphold the Brownie Promise."
