Snow moon brings the cameras out

This weekend's full moon and clear skies brought photographers out across Shropshire armed with their tripods and long lenses.

Known as the Snow moon the February full moon is named after the big snows of north America, christened by Native American because of the heavy snows that typically fall during February.

Several members of the Ellesmere based Photosoup facebook page had their cameras pointed to the skies at the weekend taking pictures.

The founder of the group, photographer, Jon Morris, said he was delighted that the facebook group had inspired people to get out and about with their cameras.

He posted his own photo of the moon.

"I tried to capture some of the colour from the minerals which we can't see with our own eyes, particularly when it is as bright as it was."
