Casualty given oxygen after crash near Ellesmere

A casualty was given oxygen by emergency services following a car crash near Ellesmere.

The incident, involving one vehicle, happened on Copes Lane, in Welshampton, at about 5.30pm on Monday.

The ambulance service confirmed two people were involved. The fire service administered oxygen to one casualty but neither required further treatment.

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the police at 5.36pm to Copes Lane, Welshampton, Ellesmere. One ambulance attended and assessed two patients, neither required hospital treatment and were discharged on scene."

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service sent four appliances including the rescue tender from Ellesmere and Wem. An operations officer was also at the scene.

West Mercia Police were also in attendance to make the area safe.
