Long delays as lorry overturns on A495 near Ellesmere
A lorry overturned on the A495 Shrewsbury to Ellesmere Road, near Ellesmere.
The crash happened on the A495 just after 3pm on Friday. The driver of the articulated vehicle had to be treated for injuries by West Midlands Ambulance Service.
The lorry crashed between Cockshutt and Ellesmere near Colemere.
Firefighters from nearby Ellesmere were quickly on the scene.
They were confronted with a fuel leak from the lorry and used specialised gear to deal with the problem.
Other motorists said that the vehicle ended up half on the carriageway and half in a field.
Traffic was able to pass, but very slowly, and the crash led to long delays in both directions while the lorry was recovered.
