Tracy Rowlands has set up KT Soaps in Ellesmere which she hopes will prove to be a great success

As High Street giants like Debenhams and Dorothy Perkins close stores across the country, in Ellesmere independent traders are opening their doors.

The latest is local resident, Tracy Rowlands, who has launched her new brand of soaps, candles, homeware and gifts, at her shop in Market Street, KT Soaps.

She decided to start her own business during lockdown and started making her scented soaps and wax melts in her kitchen at home.

The Rowlands family became well known during last year for keeping the people of Ellesmere entertained by going around the town dressed in huge, inflatable costumes.

Son, Kian, made special 'Hope' badges and asked for a minimum donation of £1 for them to buy hand creams for key workers.

The shop, KT Soaps, is the latest to have opened in the town and traders hope that local people will continue to shop local rather than go to bigger towns and cities.
