Big delays as A5 blocked at Shrewsbury after car and tractor crash
Motorists experienced long delays as the A5 was blocked at Shrewsbury today after an accident involving a car and a tractor.
There were long tailbacks on the A5 and surrounding roads, after the crash, which happened close to the Montgomery island at 11.25am.
The road was blocked in both directions, with multiple police cars on the scene attempting to clear up debris.
Inspector Peter Isanga, from West Mercia Police said West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene at 11.35am, but the occupants of the vehicle only required treatment for minor cuts.
He said: "There will be a few major delays while the debris is cleared up.
"Both sides of the road are blocked."
The road was fully reopened by 2pm.
