Shrewsbury firefighters cut ring from woman's finger

Firefighters came to the aid of a woman after a ring got stuck on her finger.

It was removed at Shrewsbury Fire Station yesterday. Firefighters spent a couple of minutes dealing with the incident, using specialist equipment.

Emergency services were also called after a two-vehicle crash in Shropshire.

It happened on the A528 in Ellesmere at 1pm yesterday. Firefighters from Ellesmere, Wellington and Wem were called to the scene to make the vehicles safe.

No one is believed to have been seriously injured as a result of the crash.
